Climate Justice at Earth Day 2018

April 23, 2018

Glasgow City Council, GUEST (Student Sustainability Team at the University of Glasgow) and the University of Strathclyde jointly organised a series of free events to celebrate Earth Day on the 22nd of April 2018.

Jonathan Truslove, a second year PhD student funded through the Climate Justice Fund: Water Futures Programme, presented and took part in a Q&A panel discussion on ‘Climate Justice’ alongside Dr. Kerry Burton from Glasgow Caledonian University at the Satinwood Suite in Glasgow City Chambers on the 20th of April.  Discussions focused around climate justice within the rural and urban areas of both Scotland and Malawi.

Following this event, a second event took place at Glasgow University with representatives from Circular Glasgow and the Metropolitan Glasgow Strategic Drainage Partnership.  Discussions focussed around the circular economy and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) to support sustainability within Glasgow.
